    Education

Our school nurses are licensed Registered Professional Nurses(RNs), and we employ Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) that assist the RNs.

RNs & LPNs are overseen by New York State under the auspices of the University of the State of New York Education Department Office of Professions.

All nurses must maintain current CPR and AED certification at the Health Care Provider level and must obtain Infection Control Certification every 3 years.

School nurses also complete Concussion Education Certification every two years through the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) program.

School Nurse Continuing Education is obtained through the New York State Center for School Health (NYSCSH) as well as through Community Health providers & programs.

    Locations

Our nurses cover the health offices in 2 high schools, 2 middle schools, 5 elementary schools, the Pre-K program at Hamilton, the Big Picture Program at the Kenmore Middle Building, as well as 7 non-public schools that are in the district.
