Say Something Reporting System

  • Say Something

The Ken-Ton School District has partnered with Sandy Hook Promise to provide an easy way for students, parents, and community members to anonymously report safety concerns such as potential threats, suspicious activity, bullying, and mental health concerns. Through the Say Something Anonymous Reporting System, anyone can submit a tip at any time of the day using:

    • A mobile app (available through the Google Play and Apple Store)

    • The Say Something website

    • A telephone hotline (844-572-9669)

More About the Say Something Reporting System

All tips are immediately reviewed by highly skilled counselors who work around the clock every day of the year. Depending on the nature of the tip, the counselors then communicate with school/district administrators as well as law enforcement so that each tip can be followed up on. Some tips, like those involving an imminent safety risk, will be acted upon immediately by school/district personnel while others will be investigated as needed.

School staff are currently in the process of educating students about this new tool and training them on how to use it. Once training is completed, the Say Something system will be able to be easily accessed through the district website. It isn’t just for students, however. Parents/caregivers can use it as well and can learn more through this Parent Guide.

The Say Something Anonymous Reporting System is a service provided by Sandy Hook Promise, a non-profit organization formed by victims' families following the tragedy that unfolded at Sandy Hook Elementary School in 2012. It has been implemented in hundreds of schools nationwide and is credited with:

    • 18 planned school shootings averted

    • 300+ acts of violence with a weapon prevented

    • 700+ confirmed lives saved from suicide

    • 5,800+ students helped through a mental health crisis

The Say Something program encourages everyone to recognize and watch for the warning signs of someone who may be at-risk of harming themselves or others, take every warning sign and threat seriously, and act immediately to get help by talking to a trusted adult or reporting it through the Say Something System.
