School Reopening Announcements
The Erie County Department of Health has published its guidance and information to clarify what ECDOH is doing to respond to COVID cases within schools and childcare providers. These documents can be found at erie.gov/covid19/schools
Visit our back-to-school page at www.ktufsd.org/back2school for back-to-school information from each school including school welcome letters and communications, device and material pick-up information, school supply lists, each schools' remote learning plan, information on student schedules, and more.
The district is providing devices to as many families as possible to assist with online/remote learning. Information on requesting a device such as a Chromebook or iPad can be found at www.ktufsd.org/devices. On this page you will also find information about technology support and helpful resources to assist you with accessing technology and instructional resources.
The Ken-Ton School District has announced that the district will phase in a hybrid schedule in 5-week increments, beginning with UPK, Gr. K, Gr. 1, and self-contained special education classes, beginning Oct. 13. Transportation will be provided for BOCES CTE students beginning Sept. 8. You can find more details in the August 21, 2020 Ken-Ton Weekly Connection, which you can find at www.ktufsd.org/superintendent.
The Remote Learning Plan, which details how instructional programming would be carried out should schools have to operate in a fully remote learning model for all students, and the Contact Tracing & Testing Plan, which details steps that would be taken should a student or staff member test positive to COVID-19, have both been posted to the School & District Reopening Plans page.

Ken-Ton UFSD School Reopening Task Force:
The Ken-Ton UFSD School Re-Opening Task Force first convened in early July to establish the structures necessary to complete the work of planning for the 2020-21 school year. This group is composed of district administrators and leaders, school building principals, and parents, with several different sub-committees and school-based teams focusing on individual areas of district operations, building-level planning, and community engagement. School districts were asked to submit reopening plans to the state and post them online by July 31. Districts were required to prepare for three potential scenarios:
- A return to school in September with full face-to-face attendance and precautions to ensure the health and safety of our students and staff
- A fully remote and virtual learning environment
- A blended model, combining elements of the two
