Eligibility & Requests for Transportation
Transportation is provided only to those students who meet the district's eligibility requirements, regardless of the school of attendance, including non-public schools. For important information regarding eligibility requirements for student transportation, visit the Eligibility page.

Transportation Schedule
The Kenmore-Town of Tonawanda UFSD is required by law to provide transportation in accordance with the officially adopted school calendar of the Kenmore-Town of Tonawanda UFSD. In accordance with the law, the Kenmore-Town of Tonawanda UFSD is also required to provide transportation for all Kenmore-Town of Tonawanda UFSD students to all public and BOCES schools regardless of whether or not the Kenmore-Town of Tonawanda UFSD is open or closed. The only exceptions are New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, and Christmas.
Transportation to non-public schools will be provided in accordance with the officially adopted school calendar of the Kenmore-Town of Tonawanda UFSD. Transportation to non-public schools will not be provided on days when the Kenmore-Town of Tonawanda UFSD is not in session. The Ken-Ton School District calendar may be found at ktufsd.org/calendar.
Kenmore-Town of Tonawanda UFSD’s early dismissal times are as follows:
- High schools – 11:25 a.m.
- Middle schools – 12:00 a.m.
- Elementary schools – 12:40 p.m.
Joint Custody Transportation
The Kenmore-Town of Tonawanda will only transport a student to the official address of the student. If a student alternates living with their parents, Ken-Ton will transport to either residence provided each residence is located within the district boundaries.
Student Activity, Field Trips & Athletic Team Trips
The Kenmore-Town of Tonawanda UFSD provides transportation for class trips, community based instruction and athletic team trips. All trips have administrative regulations that govern their appropriateness and where the funds to cover the costs are generated. At no time may a bus leave without appropriate supervision. The Assistant Superintendent for Finance and/or his/her designee will make final determinations to the trips logistics including student to chaperone ratio. Only Ken-Ton students and approved chaperones will be eligible for transportation.
Kindergarten Transportation Guidelines
Buses will not drop off a kindergarten student if a parent or previously designated adult is not at the stop to receive the student. An exception is if a student has an older sibling also getting off the bus at the same time, in which case the Transportation Department will need a note from the parent that will be kept on file in the transportation office giving permission to allow the kindergarten student off the bus with the sibling.
