New Registrant Requests for Public School Transportation
Upon registration, transportation will automatically be contacted to determine eligibility and assign transportation as appropriate. The Transportation Department will notify families of transportation details during the month of August for the upcoming school year. If there are any questions or concerns, please contact the Transportation Department or your child’s school for information. If a transportation request is made after the start of the school year, please note that transportation arrangements may take up to 7-10 days.
New Registrant Requests for Non-Public School Transportation
In order to apply for non-public school transportation, please contact your child’s non-public school and request a Non-Public School Transportation Application. This form can also be found on the Forms page. This form must be completed annually and submitted to the Transportation Department by April 1. If approved, this application form authorizes transportation for your child to and from a non-public school. The Kenmore-Town of Tonawanda School District will not transport a child to a non-public school without a completed Non-Public Transportation Application on record.
Kindergarten Transportation Guidelines
Buses will not drop off a kindergarten student if a parent or previously designated adult is not at the stop to receive the student. An exception is if a student has an older sibling also getting off the bus at the same time, in which case the Transportation Department will need a note from the parent that will be kept on file in the transportation office giving permission to allow the kindergarten student off the bus with the sibling.
