May 16, 2017 Voting Results

The annual Kenmore-Town of Tonawanda Union Free School District Budget Vote and Board of Education Election took place on Tuesday, May 16. Residents of the school district voted on two propositions: the proposed 2017-18 school district budget and the annual bus purchase. They also voted on candidates for two seats on the Board of Education.
Voting results were as follows:
- Proposition 1, the 2017-18 school district budget, was approved by voters (yes votes: 1,185; no votes: 296).
- Proposition 2, the annual bus purchase, was approved by voters (yes votes: 1,105; no votes: 370).
There are two terms on the Board of Education that will begin July 1, 2017 and end June 30, 2020. The seats will go to the two candidates who received the highest number of votes. They were Jill O’Malley, current Board of Education president, who received 1,278 votes, and Michelle Tarbox, who received 1,250 votes. They ran unopposed.
