Dave Brenon & Jeff Rodgers
Dave Brenon & Jeff Rodgers
If you’ve walked along Delaware Road near the Kenmore West athletic fields, you are probably familiar with the home of Dave Brenon and Jeff Rodgers. Jeff serves as manager of a thriving grocery store in Ontario and has been active in the Lion’s Club. Dave is a retired Buffalo Public Schools teacher who volunteers with Journey’s End, where he uses his experience as an educator to assist immigrants in becoming successful members of the community. Together, they maintain one of the most beautiful gardens in Ken-Ton. Dave originally grew up on a dairy farm cultivating fruits and vegetables, and he has put that experience to good use. With Jeff’s help, what began as just a few shrubs and flowers has been transformed into a magnificent garden that encompasses both their front and back yards. Best of all, Dave and Jeff actively encourage the community to enjoy their garden. They welcome everyone, not just during the Ken-Ton Garden Walk, which they help organize, but throughout the growing season. Being a good neighbor is what Ken-Ton is all about and there are few better examples than Dave and Jeff. From providing plenty of food and refreshments for Garden Walk participants and always having treats available for people walking dogs to sharing their plants with the neighborhood, everyone who lives near Dave and Jeff consider themselves lucky to have them as neighbors.
