David Peters

David Peters is a Kenmore West High School alumnus who plays a very special role in our community. David overcame an auditory processing disorder to achieve incredible success while one of our students. He also broke down barriers, demonstrating that students with disabilities can excel and be an active part of the school community. David, who was affectionately known as the “Mayor of West,” exemplified the Kenmore West spirit and was named Homecoming King his senior year. He also served as manager for both the football team and basketball team. His importance to the team’s success was evident when he became the first manager to earn the football team’s Spirit Award. After graduating from Kenmore West approximately 16 years ago, David took a job at Tops where he continues to work to this day. He plays just as special a role at Tops as he did at Kenmore West. If you have ever shopped at Tops, there is a very good chance you already know him. David can most often be found serving as a cart attendant, but he is best known for the manner in which he goes out of his way to greet customers and make them feel welcome. In his spare time, David enjoys weight lifting at Planet Fitness, where he is just as well known as he is at Tops. David is extremely gifted at making people feel special. He is extremely social, approachable, caring, and personable, and his ability to brighten people’s day is legendary.
