Florian Mendal
Florian Mendal
Ever since he moved to Kenmore following his retirement approximately 10 years ago, Florian Mendal has devoted his time and resources as a volunteer photographer for multiple Kenmore West High School sports including Football, Baseball, Boys Basketball and Girls Basketball. Mr. Mendal is a familiar face on the sidelines and has a great relationship with players, coaches, and the Athletics Department. He never misses a game. He uses his own equipment to document the season, drawing upon his prior experience as a photographer. He provides his extensive collection of images to the coaches at the end of each season so they may be shared with players and families. He makes it a point to get at least one high-quality image of each individual player and provides them with a printed 8x10 copy at no cost to them. Additionally, Mr. Mendal acquires large-scale frames to create beautiful collages of photographs from the season so they may be proudly displayed at banquets and other events. He does this at no cost to the players, school or district and refuses any compensation. He is motivated solely as a fan of Kenmore West High School sports and a desire to see the teams and players celebrated for their achievements.
