Elizabeth Kerr
From left, Board President Matthew Chimera, Elizabeth Kerr and Superintendent Sabatino Cimato.
Elizabeth Kerr and her children have been among the most dedicated supporters of the Edison Community Garden, which has become the centerpiece of the Edison campus and an amazing resource for students, staff and families. The Garden wouldn't have been possible without the tireless support and dedication of community members like Elizabeth. She and her two children can be seen frequently attending to the Garden, planting, watering, and weeding. Earlier this year, Mrs. Kerr also initiated Edison Elementary’s application through the Tonawanda Community Environmental Benefit Program. This program is making up to $1 million in grants available for projects in the greater Tonawanda community. Through Elizabeth’s efforts, the Garden has made it all the way to the finals with winners to be determined soon. Thanks to this, Edison might soon benefit from thousands of dollars in funding to expand and invest in the Garden. In the words of one member of the Edison community, “Elizabeth exemplifies the drive and enthusiasm and talent which continues to revitalize the ‘Edison experience’ each year!”
