Veronica Allis
Mrs. Allis is a Multimedia Art Teacher at Kenmore West High School. She has a Bachelor's degree in Apparel Design from Buffalo State University and she went back to receive her post-baccalaureate certification in Art Education. Mrs. Allis student-taught at Kenmore West in the Spring of 2022 and is proud to call the school home for her first teaching job. Outside of teaching, she runs markets for local artisans and small businesses. Mrs. Allis truly loves being connected with the arts in many areas of her life. She also enjoys making food and spending her time outdoors.

Linsey Buchlis
Linsey Buchlis moved to Buffalo in 2007 to attend the University at Buffalo where she graduated with a degree in Visual Studies and English. After receiving her teaching certificate from Buffalo State University, she took an apprenticeship as a bookbinder in Asheville, NC. She is currently completing her Master's degree in Art Education from Boston University and is very excited to be a part of the Ken-Ton team! Her work is largely focused on drawing, painting, printmaking, and book art. Ms. Buchlis is the new art teacher at Lindbergh Elementary.

Denise Carr
Mrs. Carr is a Kenmore East graduate who went on to earn both Bachelor's & Master's degrees in Art Education from Buffalo State University. She has been teaching at Kenmore East since 1999, and is currently the district art coordinator. In her spare time she loves to travel with her family, practice & teach yoga, knit and take photographs.

Jennifer Leone
Jennifer Leone's love for the arts originated from growing up in New York City. Attending art galleries, museums, and exposure to graffiti street art cultivated a fascination that art could reflect personal ideas. As an adult, she pursued a Bachelor's in Fine Arts and a Master’s in Art Education from Buffalo State College.
With 13 years of teaching experience, Jennifer Leone is passionate about engaging students’ sense of wonder, curiosity about the world around them, and desire to visually communicate.
Her favorite hobby is laughing!

Jennifer Lynch
Jennifer Lynch has been teaching art at Hoover Elementary School since 1994. Her favorite events of the year include the Spring Art Show and Family Art Night. She loves to garden and travel with her husband and 2 children. She has even done a few triathlons!

Gina McCartney
Mrs. McCartney is a New York State Certified k-12 Art Educator with a Master's Degree from Buffalo State College. This is her 16th year teaching art and her 12th year in the Ken-Ton School District. Mrs. McCartney teaches at Hoover Middle School.

Lisa Mihelbergel
Mrs. Mihelbergel majored in Fine Art at Colgate University, received her Masters in Art Education from Buffalo State University and has been teaching art in Ken-Ton since 1996. In her personal art making she enjoys painting large-scale acrylics. She loves to windsurf, and spends as much time as possible outdoors paddling a canoe.

Brianne Nightingale
Ms. Nightingale received her Bachelor's degree in Art Education from Daemen University and plans on pursuing her Master's degree in Art Education at Buffalo State University. She is a first year teacher and is very excited to teach art at Thomas Edison Elementary and Kenmore West. Aside from painting, in her free time she enjoys watching movies and taking her dog on long walks around Buffalo.

Anna Rubino
Anna Rubino is an artist and art teacher at Kenmore West High School. She was born and raised in Buffalo, New York and received her BFA from Buffalo State University. She currently teaches Photography 1 & 2, Studio in Art, Advanced Art and AP Art. In her spare time, she enjoys traveling, spending time with family and friends, and painting!

Matthew Sagurney
Matthew SaGurney is a Southern Tier artist, educator, father, and hiker who has lived in Buffalo for 25 years. He is a proud alumnus of Buffalo State College and grateful former member of the Buffalo Arts Studio. SaGurney’s work jumps around different media (ceramics, printmaking, drawing, painting, and photography) and plays with ideas of higher standards, glossy facades, bad jokes, plastic affections, magic bullets, miracle remedies, illustrious healers, suburban slang, banal epiphanies, war machines, and puffy clouds. He takes himself very seriously.

Megan Sheppard
Mrs. Sheppard has been at Kenmore East since 2020 and is a New York State Certified K-12 art Educator with a Master's Degree in Educational Technology from SUNY Potsdam. Mrs. Sheppard grew up in Long Island, where she first began working towards her educational goals and fine arts career. Shortly after being certified in 2017, she spent three years teaching high school art in Massena, New York. She is excited to call Buffalo home and enjoys mixed media art, sailing, kayaking, skiing (join ski and snowboard club), art history museums, and D.I.Y. home projects!

Martha Sikorski
Mrs. Sikorski teaches Studio in Art, Drawing & Painting, and 8th grade Art at Kenmore West High School. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Art Education from Montclair State University and had the opportunity to study abroad during her undergraduate studies in Florence, Italy at the Santa Reparata School of Art (SRISA) taking an on-site painting class.
Her experience in Italy has influenced her love of painting. Mrs. Sikorski completed her Masters in Studio Art through the Florence Academy of Art (FAA) program. She enjoys traveling with friends & family, being surrounded by nature, and laughing out loud.

Sarah Sonnenberg
Sarah Sonnenberg is very excited to be the new addition to the Ken-Ton School District! She was previously the art educator at Aspire Center for Learning, a specialty school for children with developmental disabilities. She is an advocate for art for all and accessibility in the arts. Sarah recently earned her graduate degree from the University at Buffalo in Disability Studies and Fine Art. In her free time she enjoys painting, sculpture, photography, volunteering and anything outdoors.

Andrea Spoth
Ms. Spoth is an art teacher at Kenmore West High School. She studied Painting and Art History at Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, NY and received her Masters in Art Education from SUNY New Paltz. Ms. Spoth loves animals and spending time in nature with her husband and three dogs.

Megan Sweeney
After receiving her Bachelor’s Degree in Graphic Design, Ms. Sweeney began her career in the arts as a graphic designer/art director. After working for a number of advertising agencies, she returned to Buffalo State University to become a NYS certified PK-12 Art Teacher. She is still an active designer, freelancing for local businesses. When she is not working on her art, she loves to get outside and travel as much as she can. If you are ever in the Niagara Falls Gorge, you will probably spot her hiking with a dog or two.

Richard Tomasello
Mr. Tomasello is an Art Teacher at Kenmore West High School. He attended Ken-Ton schools growing up and is proud to teach at his former high school. Mr. Tomasello is also an artist and has exhibited his work in many solo and group shows in New York City, Los Angeles, Pittsburgh, Philadelphia, and Buffalo.

Wendy Yiengst
Wendy Yiengst has been the art teacher at Thomas Edison Elementary School since 1994. She attended the University at Buffalo for Fine Arts and Buffalo State University for her BS and MS in Art Education. Mrs. Yiengst's favorite event at Edison is the Annual Spring Art Show where close to 600 pieces of student art are hung for this community event. Mrs. Yiengst also facilitates and runs the Edison Student Gallery. Each year, student artwork is chosen and professionally framed for this permanent collection. In addition to her love of teaching children, Mrs. Yiengst enjoys traveling with her husband and two children, physical activity (like running), the outdoors, and anything animal related.
