    August 14, 2019:
    Families that have moved into the district or have moved within the district are reminded to contact the Central Registration Department at 874-8400 and provide proof of residency/address change. More information can be found on the Central Registration Page at ktufsd.org/registration.

    August 13, 2019:
    The Parent and Student Portals will open on Monday, August 26, 2019 at 7:30 a.m. Students/parents will be able to view student schedules at that time.

    When will I receive Universal Pre-K information?

    The Universal Pre-K Program in the Ken-Ton School District is operated by the YMCA, which expects to mail placement letters by mid-July. The UPK school supply list was sent to parents via email (for those who provided an email address) and via regular mail (for those who did not provide an email address). The school supply list can be found here.

    How do I find my child's Student ID Number, and what do I need it for?

    You will need your child’s 9-digit student ID number to sign up for MySchoolBucks (breakfast/lunch pre-payment) and My Stop (school bus tracking). You can find the student ID number on any of your child’s past report cards. If you have a Parent Portal account, you can view past report cards there. If you have trouble finding your student ID number, you can also contact your child’s school.

    How do I sign up for My Stop Bus Tracking?

    Parents/guardians may sign up for My Stop, which will allow them to securely view the location of their child’s school bus in real time and the estimated time of arrival at the bus stop. The tool is available both as a mobile and web-based app using GPS devices installed on all Ken-Ton School District buses. Visit the My Stop page at www.ktufsd.org/mystop for more information. You will need your child's 9-digit student ID number to sign up for My Stop. You can find the student ID number on any of your child’s past report cards. If you have a Parent Portal account, you can view past report cards there. If you have trouble finding your student ID number, you can also contact your child’s school.

    How do I sign up for free/reduced-price breakfast and lunch?

    Please Note: Students at Franklin Elementary, Holmes Elementary, and Hoover Elementary need not apply for free and reduced-price breakfast/lunch; see below for more information.*

    Free and reduced-price breakfast/lunch applications will be sent home at the beginning of the school year. If you would like a head start on applying for free and reduced-price breakfast and lunch, information and the application can be found here:

    *Important Message for Students at Franklin Elementary, Holmes Elementary, and Hoover Elementary: Students at three three schools are able to enjoy a free breakfast and lunch this year through a program called the Community Eligibility Provision. Families at these three schools do not need to fill out a Free & Reduced-Price Meal Application in order to receive meals.

    How do I pre-pay for breakfast and lunch, and where can I find menus and nutrition information?

    For breakfast and lunch menus, nutrition information, pre-payment options (MySchoolBucks), and more, visit the Food Service website at www.ktufsd.org/nutrition.     When will I receive bus pick-up/drop-off information?

    If your child is eligible for busing, bus letters with information regarding your child's school bus number and pick-up/drop-off time are expected to be mailed home the week of August 19. If you would like to be able to securely view the location of your child’s school bus in real time and the estimated time of arrival at the bus stop, please sign up for My Stop (more information on the My Stop page at www.ktufsd.org/mystop).

    What are the mileage eligibily limits?

    The following students are eligible for bus transportation: Elementary school students (Grades K-4) who live 0.5 miles or more from school, middle school students (Grades 5-7) who live 0.75 miles or more from school, and high school students (Grades 8-12) who live 1.0 miles or more from school.

    When will the 2019-20 calendar be available?

    What are the 2019-20 start/end times and early release times?

    School arrival/dismissal times will remain unchanged for the 2019-20 school year with the exception of the high school instructional start times (7:38 for Kenmore East and 7:40 for Kenmore West); however, this will not impact the high school morning bus arrival time or the high school dismissal time which will remain the same as last year. For students in grades K-7, the times will remain the same as last year (approximately 9:05 to 3:20 for elementary schools/8:15 to 2:50 for middle schools). Please contact your child's school or refer to your child's schedule or back-to-school information sent home by your child's school for building/grade-specific information such as arrival/dismissal procedures, school schedule, etc. For students who receive bus transportation, bus letters are expected to be mailed home the week of August 19 and will include your child's school bus number and pick-up/drop-off time.

    Early release times will also remain unchanged for the 2019-20 school year: 12 p.m. for middle schools and 12:40 p.m. for elementary schools (please note that there are no early release days scheduled for high schools for the 2019-20 school year).

    How can I find out about arrival/dismissal procedures, schedules, etc.?

    How can I sign up for voice, email and text notifications?

    Parents and guardians can receive notifications such as school cancellations and informational alerts via ShoutPoint through the Infinite Campus student management system which is also linked to families’ Parent Portal accounts. Parents who have a Parent Portal account can view the Parent Portal Contact Preferences Sheet which has information on updating their contact preferences in Parent Portal. Parents who do not have a Parent Portal account (such as elementary school families) can email icportal@ktufsd.org to update their student/family contact preferences or to be sure that your most up-to-date information is on file. They can also fill out the Notification Preferences Form and return it to their child's school. More information can be found at the District Notifications Page.

    How can I create a Parent Portal Account?

    Parents/guardians of middle school and high school students who do not yet have a Parent Portal account will receive information in the fall on how to create an account. Please visit the Parent Portal Page at www.ktufsd.org/parentportal for information and resources regarding Parent Portal.

    How can I register my child for school?

    If you are a resident of the Ken-Ton School District and wish to register your child(ren) for Universal Pre-Kindergaren or Kindergarten for the 2019-20 school year, or if you have moved into the district or within the district and need to enroll your child(ren) in Ken-Ton Schools, please contact the Central Registration Office at 874-8400 ext. 22090 in order to schedule an appointment as soon as possible. Registration is by appointment only only at the Administration Building, 1500 Colvin Blvd., Buffalo, NY 14219, from the hours of 8:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. during the summer. Please visit www.ktufsd.org/registration for information regarding the registration process. Please note that proof of residency will be required if you have moved into the district, and new proof of residency will be required if you have moved to another location within the district.

    When will crossing guard locations be available?

    Crossing guard locations will remain unchanged for the 2019-20 school year. A map detailing crossing guard locations in the Village of Kenmore and Town of Tonawanda has been posted here: 2019-20 Crossing Guard Locations. In the coming year, the district will work with the Town of Tonawanda Police Department to closely examine crossing guard data and pedestrian traffic patterns to identify potential changes to further optimize crossing guard locations beginning with the 2020-21 school year.
