Antara Satchidanand & Yashodhara Satchidanand

Antara Satchidanand is a parent of a 12th-grade student in the Big Picture Program at Kenmore Junior/Senior High School. Antara is the driving force behind Big Picture’s new Home/School Association and has also become involved with the district's Shared Decision Making Team and Parent Cabinet. She has devoted a great deal of time to offer students new opportunities such as Big Picture’s Dinner Club and Fine Arts Festival. In 2018, Antara was also a finalist in the district’s first-ever Innovation Contest with a proposal for a new peer-to-peer program aimed at promoting a positive school environment and cultivating a culture of tolerance.

Antara’s mother, Dr. Yashodhara Satchidanand, has also been very involved in Ken-Ton Schools as a parent and now as a grandparent. When her children were in school, she would share her medical expertise and volunteer in science classrooms. She also became an active member of the Kenmore West Planning Team. As a grandparent, she continues to contribute to science instruction and has been a big supporter of Big Picture. She helped establish the new HSA, volunteers at events, and has also provided funding and support for teacher-lead initiatives that directly benefit students.
