Dawn Stinner

Dawn Stinner is a district parent who has devoted countless hours in support of students and families over the years. Dawn has 4 students currently enrolled in Ken-Ton Schools and another who graduated last June. In 2016, Dawn founded the Special Education Parent Teacher Organization (SEPTO) and currently serves as Director. SEPTO maintains a close partnership with the Ken-Ton School District and the Special Education Department and its mission is to provide a support network for parents of students with special needs. Dawn has been involved in many other ways as well. She served for many years as an officer in the Ken-Ton Parent/Teacher/Student Association including 2 years as PTSA President. She also served as Associate Director of the Western Region PTA and served on several advisory committees for NYS PTA. Dawn has represented parents and given them a voice by serving on many different committees and stakeholder groups for the district. This included consolidation focus groups, interview/hiring committees, the Shared Decision Making Team, the Family Support Center Steering Committee, and multiple superintendent search committees. She has also worked tirelessly to advocate on behalf of students by meeting with elected officials, facilitating letter writing campaigns, and presenting at educational forums on topics such as the Gap Elimination Adjustment and the need for fair educational funding.
