Kate Allen

Kate Allen is the gym manager for WNY MMA & Fitness, a mixed martial arts training gym located on Great Arrow Avenue in Buffalo. The gym is an internship site for students at the Big Picture Program. Thanks to Kate, WNY MMA & Fitness is one of the Big Picture Program's longest-serving internship sites. She has had three interns so far over the past five years, some of whom have returned for a second year. One of these students was put on the payroll in addition to earning internship hours. Kate remains a big supporter of the Big Picture Program. Big Picture depends on businesses like Kate's to provide internship opportunities for students since internships are such a major part of the program. Kate is always ready to take on an intern and believes passionately in the mission of Big Picture, herself having been a teacher earlier in her career. Kate's interns always have the most wonderful things to say about her and what she teaches them. She is the best mentor we could have asked for our students.
