Jennifer MacDonald, Kenmore Junior/Senior High School Teacher
Jen has been the Advisor for the 401 students for the past 5 years. She came to Ken-Ton to work at Big Picture and started with an Advisory of 8th-grade students. Her caring and nurturing approach, mixed with positive energy and humor, made her a perfect fit for Big Picture. She thinks of interesting and unique ways to engage students in the program. This includes Leaving to Learn experiences like the Mats for a Mission where students learned about weaving sleeping mats from plastic bags for homeless people. She also has helped engage the entire program in an annual talent show and an annual Halloween Pick Me Up with the most realistic Halloween decorations you can imagine! Jen never stops coming up with new and exciting ways to engage students in class, in Advisory, and in the program! She is an asset to the program but especially to the students in her Advisory. They are preparing to graduate from high school at the end of the year and Jen has been part of each of their success stories.
