Ivette Padin, Kenmore East High School Spanish Teacher

For the past 20 years, Ivette Padin has been a devoted, motivated, and energetic educator who has encouraged her students to strive for excellence. Her passion for language and Hispanic cultures are present in her daily teaching. She has shared cultural experiences from her native Puerto Rico including one of her favorite desserts, flan. Her encouragement of students can often be heard in the hallway as she says phrases such as "¡Buen trabajo!" Ivette has taught advanced courses such as IB Spanish and college-level courses through ECC. Her enthusiasm for the Spanish language includes activities outside of Kenmore East such as chaperoning several Spanish exchanges. Her kindness, generosity, and enthusiasm will be remembered by her students and colleagues.
