Kim Reidell-Maczka, Kenmore West High School Teacher

Kim Reidell-Maczka has been a Social Studies Teacher at Kenmore West for 27 years.  She was selected for this recognition because of her dedication as a teacher in the classroom as well as all that she does outside of the classroom to support Kenmore West students and the school community. Over the years, Mrs. Reidell has maintained a challenging and diverse teaching schedule, and currently teaches Global History Honors, AP World History, a Holocaust elective, and IB History. She continues to develop new instructional strategies and consistently finds ways of engaging students through technology integration. For the past two years she has been working closely with the Social Studies Instructional Support Specialist on the Seal of Civic Readiness Pilot Program for New York State. Outside of the classroom, Mrs. Reidell has been a leader who has positively shaped the school culture and community. She has served as the Advisor to the National Honors Society for 11 years. For the past 17 years, she has been the Social Studies Department Leader and a member of the School Leadership Team. For the past 27 years, Mrs. Reidell has also been an Advisor to the Community Club, which is the largest club at Kenmore West. This club is committed to connecting our school and students with the community and helping Ken-Ton families in need. Mrs. Reidell is a highly dedicated educator and leader who does not seek recognition. She leads through example, and continually demonstrates how much she cares about her students, colleagues, and school.
