Julie Holt, Hoover Middle School Teacher Aide

Mrs. Julie Holt has been a District employee for five years, first as a Monitor for three months and then as a Teacher Aide. Julie is appreciated across the building for her always-positive "can-do" attitude for any duty, assignment, last-minute task, or long-term project with which she is presented. Julie has been known to help out in the office, the copy room, and in classrooms, and later may be seen outside logging in the buses as they arrive and relaying information via walkie-talkie. Julie has a unique ability to think on her feet and make good decisions in any situation. She has been involved in classrooms assisting students learning English as a New Language, as well as students with disabilities in a variety of settings, including a 12:1:4 class as well as a 6:1 class where she currently serves as a 1:1 aide for a student. The level of care and love that Julie infuses into her daily interactions with her assigned student, as well as students across the building, is unmatched. She is compassionate, confident and always student-centered in her approach. Julie shared that she feels a deep connection to our District as a Kenmore West graduate and appreciates the feeling of making a difference every day, from simple acts like helping a student who dropped something in the hallway to assisting with more complicated situations that arise daily. She recently shared that after reflecting upon professional feedback she received, she plans to sit for the Clerk Typist exam in April. Julie and her husband, Sean, have two children, Amelia in Grade 9 at Kenmore East and Madelyn in Grade 6 at Franklin Middle, and two dogs. Congratulations, Julie!
