Susan Zummo, Franklin Middle School Math Interventionist
Math Interventionist Susan Zummo has been at Franklin Middle School since 1997. While she has always been at Franklin Middle, she has split her time throughout the course of her career at Hoover Middle, Kenmore Middle, and Kenmore East. Sue has a kind demeanor with students and staff alike and is always ready to greet others with a smile. She works tirelessly with her students, and is very attentive to the students that need the extra math help. She runs the Franklin newspaper club and publishes it regularly with the help of her students. Sue is always one to step up to the plate whenever help is needed. Last year, the school had a need for a Learning Recovery Coordinator and she jumped in to help start a program from the ground up working with teachers, transportation, administrators, and families in order to help students with gaps in learning due to the pandemic. During her spare time, Sue takes her son with disabilities on community outings, serves on the Town of Amherst Disability Committee, and enjoys cooking. We have been told she makes a mean marinara sauce with fresh tomatoes grown from her garden. Susan Zummo is a huge asset to this district and we are lucky to have her at Franklin Middle School.
