Bryan Burhans, Hoover Middle School Teacher Aide

Bryan Burhans, a district employee for 11 years, is not only the Boys Locker Room Monitor, he is an integral part of the Physical Education Team at Hoover Middle.  He takes part in activities with the students and works to develop strong connections and relationships. Mr. Burhans coaches Varsity Softball for Kenmore East and Modified Girls Volleyball at Hoover Middle, and supervises athletic events as well. This past year, Bryan went above and beyond for the students as he always does, but in new and different ways. He always contributed great ideas during our support staff meetings as we worked through shifting protocols during the pandemic and hybrid learning. Mr. Burhans took on a new role working with the music ensemble students and teachers in the auditorium during hybrid times.  He was a trusted assistant with helping students get their instruments from the music room, handled sanitizing procedures between ensembles, and triaging situations around the auditorium during rehearsals. Additionally, he was an integral part of creating a welcoming atmosphere and efficient systems during our breakfast service. These were big changes from his usual assignment as the boys locker room monitor that he handled with tremendous positive energy, teamwork and enthusiasm. Bryan Burhans is such an asseet to Hoover Middle and our district because he always puts kids first! Congratulations, Mr. Burhans!
