Heather Ratka, Hoover Elementary School Physical Education Teacher

Heather represents Hoover Elementary on many levels that include the school,  district, county and state. She is kind, caring, and always willing to help out. We have never gone to Heather with an idea and been turned away. She makes PE fun for our students both in-person and virtually. Her work on the District Wellness Committee, as well as our Field Day committee, have provided fun to staff and students over the years, especially in a year when it was much needed. She is the co-chair of the Hoover Hoots, and co-chair of our Hoover Helping Hands Committee. She creates special bonds with her students.  Just as she did this year with a student who needed some motivation to come to school. She took on this role on her own and she is honestly why the child gets out of the car in the morning to come to school.  She truly is a leader in our building and beyond.
