Emily Forney, Kenmore West High School Student
Emily Forney is a Senior at Kenmore West High School. She is a member of the Kenmore West National Honor Society and the Challenge/Interact Club. Outside of school, Emily is a cheerleader for All Star Cheerleading at Buffalo Envy. She is also a Special Olympics coach for the Ken-Ton Elites Track team. Emily volunteers at Holmes Elementary.
Emily plans to attend ECC next year to pursue a career in education. She hopes to return to Ken-Ton as a teacher assistant in the future. Emily wants to help students find tools to be successful in life and wants students with disabilities to know to never give up on themselves.
Emily’s favorite memory from Kenmore West is when she received a medal for being on the honor roll for three years. This was a goal Emily set for herself in 9th grade. She knew she was going to have to work hard, but the hard work was worth it! When Emily accomplished her goal it proved that she can do anything in life if she works hard. Emily realized that a disability does not define you.
