Tom Green, Hoover Middle School Groundskeeper
If you have driven by the Hoover Complex, chances are you've seen the beautiful handiwork of this honoree: lush greenery, well-groomed lawns, mums and flowering plants, calming courtyards. A 17-year District employee, Tom Green has worked at several buildings, including Kenmore East, Hoover Complex, Hamilton and Longfellow, and was thrilled to be named Groundskeeper at the Hoover Complex about a year ago. Tom has been described as "full of heart", "the best ever", and "someone who always thinks outside the box" about ways to improve the aesthetic of the grounds. One project of particular pride for Hoover Middle School is a Kindness Rock Garden in memory of students who have departed that Tom helped design and create. He is a great role model for students, although some might disagree with that when he wears his Kansas City Chiefs shirt on Friday Team Spirit Days! Just kidding! We admire your strong work ethic, your positive attitude no matter the weather conditions and the many ways in which you enhance our school community! Congratulations, Tom.
