Jack Blanch, Kenmore East High School Teacher
For nearly thirty years Jack Blanch has been a cornerstone of this district. He came to us after serving the country in the armed forces and taught literally thousands of children about the lessons he learned growing up: honesty, integrity and self-reliance. Those who know him best see him as a gentle leader buried within a hardened exterior -- the consummate “tough, but fair” educator that students appreciate more and more as they grow through his class. During his time here, Jack became one of the premier coaches in Western New York at Kenmore East, and whether on the basketball court or in the classroom, Jack lead by example. He loved watching his players grow over their time on the team while teaching them discipline, sportsmanship and the value of hard work. In addition to his “life” at the school, he and his wife Linda have watched their two children grow up here and graduate from Kenmore East to becoming the great young adults they are today. Every day we welcome Jack’s quick wit and smile. He is a man respected and admired by his students and has served as a mentor and friend to his colleagues.
