Hoover Elementary Hoping to Help Break Cup Stacking Record

All this week, students at Hoover Elementary are taking part in the 2024 STACK UP, an opportunity to set a WSSA World Record!

Each year, the World Sport Stacking Association organizes this worldwide opportunity in hopes of setting a new record for most people cup stacking at multiple locations. In 2023, a total of 746,698 cup stackers participated and this year, they're hoping to exceed that goal.

Each group of stackers is required to complete 30 minutes of stacking (for each participant) and will send in an online verification of numbers for official recognition. Hoover has been cup stacking in the school's new Fit Lab, which provides students with a fun and engaging environment to take part in fitness-related activities.

Hoover Elementary is among several schools and countries to join in on the challenge, and are encouraging their students to continue cup stacking both inside and outside of school. Sport stacking is an activity that our Ken-Ton Physical Education Department has been implementing into their curriculum as it promotes hand-eye coordination, brain activation, fitness, teamwork, speed, and fun.
