Approximately 80 Staff Participate in Buffalo Corporate Challenge
Many of the Corporate Challenge participants from Ken-Ton gather for a group photograph prior to the race.
The Ken-Ton School District was well represented at this year's Buffalo Corporate Challenge. The event took place at Delaware Park on Thursday, June 15th and brought together thousands of runners from throughout Western New York for a 3.5-mile race to benefit a local non-profit organization.
Approximately 80 Ken-Ton School District teachers, support staff, and administrators participated in the event, making this year's team one of the biggest in years. Staff from each of Ken-Ton's 10 school buildings participated.
This was the first time the Corporate Challenge has been held without reduced capacity since 2019. The Corporate Challenge provided an opportunity to support the district's focus on improving employee health/wellness, promoting physical activity, and fostering a positive district culture. The district's participation in the event would not have been possible without the generous support of the team's sponsors, which included Hodgson Russ, U.S. Employee Benefits, Altaris, Vista, Harris Beach, Lippas Mathias, and Independent Health.
This was the 41st time Buffalo has hosted the J.P. Morgan Corporate Challenge, the world's longest-running and largest event of its kind. The Corporate Challenge originated in New York City in 1977 and Buffalo was the first city outside New York City to host an event of its own. The Corporate Challenge brings together thousands of representatives of businesses, municipalities, non-profit organizations, and other employers.
