Kenmore West's Matthew Lansing Selected in OHL Draft

Kenmore West sophomore Matthew Lansing will soon begin a new chapter in his hockey career.

Lansing, a member of the Buffalo Jr. Sabres organization, was recently drafted by the Erie Otters of the Ontario Hockey League as the 144th overall pick [8th round]. The OHL Draft was held in April.

“It’s an honor to have been selected by the Erie Otters and drafted into an elite international league like the OHL,” Lansing said. “It was a really proud moment for me and my family and we look forward to the next step in my hockey journey.”

The Ontario Hockey League is regarded as one of the top player development leagues in the world. Many of its talent end up taking their talent to the NHL and Canada’s National teams.
