Ken-Ton Unified Basketball Teams Compete in Day Game

For the first time ever, the Kenmore East High School and Kenmore West High School unified basketball teams played against each other during the school day. The game was held on Monday, May 15th in the Kenmore East gymnasium with classmates, staff, family, and friends in attendance.

While warm-ups were taking place at each end of the court, the Kenmore East band played a set list for the crowd to enjoy ahead of tipoff. Each roster was then introduced before Kenmore East student Alison Wakefield performed the National Anthem.

Throughout the game, both coaches took substitution timeouts to rotate their student-athletes every few minutes. This allowed each participant a chance to play a few minutes each quarter. A "dance party" was held at halftime with both squads taking a break from the action to dance to the "Cupid Shuffle".

Kenmore West wound up winning the game 30-26.
