Ken-Ton hosts 27th annual Hall of Fame Golf Tournament
For more than two decades, alumni, family, and friends have supported the Ken-Ton Athletic Department through its annual Hall of Fame Golf Tournament and this summer was no different.
On Wednesday, July 13th, a total of 132 golfers hit the Sheridan Golf Course for the 27th annual Tournament. The social event, which sells out every year, supports high school athletes moving on to the next step in their academic careers.
Last year’s tournament gave out a little more than $9,000 through the Hall of Fame Scholarship Fund to student-athletes from both Kenmore East and Kenmore West High Schools. Nominations are taken throughout the school year and after a review, a final voting ballot is sent out to coaches.
With the addition of a few scholarships this coming school year, the Athletic Department plans to distribute around $10,000 (denominations range from $250-$500) to the Class of 2023.
