Franklin Middle Unveils New Student-Designed Flag

FMS Flag

Franklin Middle School recently unveiled its new student-designed school flag during a building-wide “Fun Fest” celebration. The design was created by seventh-grade student Mena Cortese. Earlier in the year, the school solicited submissions from students for a new flag design that incorporated the school mascot and colors as well as the concepts of unity, acceptance and responsibility. All students were eligible to participate in the contest and approximately 400 amazing submissions were received. Mena’s submission was ultimately selected and her hand-drawn design was digitized with the help of the art department and then produced as a large flag to be proudly displayed outside the school. Pictured here is Mena with Mr. Haggerty and Mr. Dlugosz, who organized the contest.
