When will elementary/middle school parents find out their child's teacher or receive their schedule?
Teacher placement letters will be mailed home in mid-August. The approximate dates these will be mailed are as follows:
- Edison Elementary: August 11
- Franklin Elementary: August 19
- Holmes Elementary: August 13
- Hoover Elementary: Week of August 16
- Lindbergh Elementary: August 12
Franklin Middle will provide student schedules at the locker move-in events on August 30 and they should also be available on Parent Portal a few days prior. Hoover Middle will mail hard copies home the week of August 23 and they will be available for viewing on Parent Portal on August 25.
When will I receive Universal Pre-Kindergarten (UPK) information?
The UPK program is operated by the Ken-Ton YMCA. Acceptance letters were sent via email on July 26. Information on class location, room assignment, and teacher will be shared via email on August 2 followed by supply lists/open house information on August 16. As announced on July 23, there will not be a lottery selection process, and any families that have registered for UPK are guaranteed a spot in either the half-day or full-day program.
How do I find my child's Student ID Number, and what do I need it for?
You will need your child’s 9-digit student ID number to sign up for MySchoolBucks (breakfast/lunch pre-payment) and My Stop (school bus tracking). You can find the student ID number on any of your child’s past report cards. If you have a Parent Portal account, you can view past report cards there. If you have trouble finding your student ID number, you can also contact your child’s school.
How do I sign up for My Stop Bus Tracking?
Parents/guardians may sign up for My Stop, which will allow them to securely view the location of their child’s school bus in real time and the estimated time of arrival at the bus stop. The tool is available both as a mobile and web-based app using GPS devices installed on all Ken-Ton School District buses. Visit the My Stop page at www.ktufsd.org/mystop for more information. You will need your child's 9-digit student ID number to sign up for My Stop. You can find the student ID number on any of your child’s past report cards. If you have a Parent Portal account, you can view past report cards there. If you have trouble finding your student ID number, you can also contact your child’s school.
How do I sign up for free/reduced-price breakfast and lunch?
Breakfast and Lunch is FREE to all students for the 2021-22 school year. We are asking all families to complete our meal application to ensure continued funding to support all students in our district. Applications are sent home the first day of school in September. Complete and return the form to the school your child/children attend. If help is needed to complete the application, please call 716-874-8400 ext. 20404 for assistance. You may apply any time during the school year if the need arises. Only one application per household is needed.
Where can I find menus and nutrition information?
For breakfast and lunch menus, nutrition information, pre-payment options (MySchoolBucks), and more, visit the Food Service website at www.ktufsd.org/nutrition. You will need your child's 9-digit student ID number to sign up for MySchoolBucks. You can find the student ID number on any of your child’s past report cards. If you have a Parent Portal account, you can view past report cards there. If you have trouble finding your student ID number, you can also contact your child’s school.
When will I receive bus pick-up/drop-off information?
If your child is eligible for busing, bus letters with information regarding your child's school bus number and pick-up/drop-off time are expected to be mailed home on August 25. Beginning this year, parents/guardians will be able to view this bus information right away in their Parent Portal account beginning August 25. You can find the link to the Infinite Campus Parent Portal at www.ktufsd.org/ParentPortal. On this page, you will also find instructions on how to access the Portal app on a mobile device, how to update your household/contact information, how to find your child's report card, how to request an activation key, and more. If you do not have a Campus Parent Portal account, please email ICportal@ktufsd.org. If you would like to be able to securely view the location of your child’s school bus in real time and the estimated time of arrival at the bus stop, please sign up for My Stop (more information on the My Stop page at www.ktufsd.org/mystop).
What are the mileage eligibily limits?
The following students are eligible for bus transportation: Elementary school students (Grades K-4) who live 0.5 miles or more from school, middle school students (Grades 5-7) who live 0.75 miles or more from school, and high school students (Grades 8-12) who live 1.0 miles or more from school.
Where can I find the school/district calendar?
The District Calendar booklet with detailed school activity/event information will be mailed to families in mid-to-late August and posted to this page. Links to website and Google calendars will also be posted. To find the one-page instructional calendar overview adopted in April 2021, visit www.ktufsd.org/calendar.
What are the 2021-22 start/end times and early release times?
Please note that student schedules and specific arrival/dismissal times vary by school. Please refer to your child's schedule or correspondence from your child's school regarding building-specific and grade-specific arrival/dismissal information. For students who receive bus transportation, bus letters will be mailed in mid-to-late August and will include your child's school bus number and pick-up/drop-off time.

How can I find out about arrival/dismissal procedures, schedules, etc.?
Schools will send home information regarding schedules, arrival/dismissal times and procedures, etc. during the summer.
How can I sign up for voice, email and text notifications?
Parents and guardians can receive notifications such as school cancellations and informational alerts via ShoutPoint through the Infinite Campus student management system which is also linked to families’ Parent Portal accounts. Parents who have a Parent Portal account can click here for information about updating their contact preferences in Parent Portal. Parents who do not have a Parent Portal account can email icportal@ktufsd.org to update their student/family contact preferences or to be sure that your most up-to-date information is on file.
How can I create a Parent Portal Account?
You can access your child's report cards and track their academic progress through the Infinite Campus Parent Portal, which you can access on a computer, tablet, or smart phone. You can find the link to the Infinite Campus Parent Portal at www.ktufsd.org/ParentPortal. On this page, you will also find instructions on how to access the Portal app on a mobile device, how to update your household/contact information, how to find your child's report card, how to request an activation key, and more. If you do not have a Campus Parent Portal account, please email ICportal@ktufsd.org.
How can I register my child for school?
If you are a resident of the Ken-Ton School District and wish to register your child(ren) for Universal Pre-Kindergaren or Kindergarten for the 2021-22 school year, or if you have moved into the district or within the district and need to enroll your child(ren) in Ken-Ton Schools, please visit the Central Registration website at www.ktufsd.org/registration for comprehensive information regarding registering your student.
Where are crossing guards located?
A map detailing crossing guard locations in the Village of Kenmore and Town of Tonawanda has been posted here: Crossing Guard Locations. Please note one change that goes into effect this year: the crossing at Delaware Avenue and Glencove has been moved to Delaware Avenue and Sheridan Drive.
