Superintendent Search

  • The Kenmore-Town of Tonawanda Union Free School District Board of Education is excited to announce that it is commencing a search for the next Superintendent of Schools. The Board of Education and the District are grateful for the service of Superintendent Steve Bovino, who has indicated his intent to retire at the end of the 2019-20 school year. During this school year, the Board of Education will work in conjunction with Erie 1 BOCES District Superintendent Dr. Lynn Fusco and all school district stakeholders to conduct a thorough, extensive, and exhaustive search for the next Superintendent of Schools.

The Board of Education recognizes that the selection of a Superintendent of Schools is its most important responsibility for the students, staff, families, and other stakeholders of our school district community. The Board of Education is committed to a search process that is transparent and collaborative with input from all school district stakeholders. All information related to the search process will be made available on the school district homepage at www.ktufsd.org and at www.ktufsd.org/search.

Roundtable Discussion: Tuesday, Dec. 3 (Click here to view)

As part of the ongoing search for a new Superintendent of Schools, the Ken-Ton School District Board of Education will host a Superintendent Search Roundtable Discussion on Tuesday, Dec. 3, 2019. The roundtable will include designated representatives of various stakeholder groups including teachers, parents, support staff, and administrators. Only those designated representatives may participate in the discussion, but all members of the Ken-Ton School District community are invited to attend and observe the discussion.

The roundtable will take place on Tuesday, Dec. 3, 2019 from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Kenmore Middle School Building Community Room, located at 155 Delaware Road, in Kenmore. The purpose of this discussion is to give district stakeholder groups the opportunity to provide feedback on the results of the recent superintendent search survey, provide additional considerations before applications for the superintendent position are received, and to discuss the search process.

The Board wishes for the superintendent search process to be as open and collaborative as possible, and this roundtable will provide a unique opportunity for Board members to hear from district stakeholders before the more formal process begins as applications are solicited for the superintendent position. For more information regarding the search, including the results from the recent superintendent search community survey, visit www.ktufsd.org/search or choose the "Superintendent Search" option in the main navigation bar at ktufsd.org.

    Superintendent Search Survey: Oct. 9 - 19

Thank you to all those who took part in our Superintendent Search Survey! Click here for the survey results.

The foundation of the search process was the compilation of a candidate profile, which identifies the most important qualities, traits, skills, and experience the next Superintendent of Schools should possess. The Board of Education invited all parents, staff, students, community members, and other school district stakeholders to assist by taking a short survey which was coordinated by Erie 1 BOCES. The survey was open from Oct. 9, 2019 to Oct. 19, 2019.
