Chris Zimmer, Lindbergh Elementary School Substitute Teacher/Retired Teacher:

Mrs. Zimmer retired from the Kenmore-Town of Tonawanda School District in June 2012. After a wonderful career as a passionate educator, teacher leader, and School Planning Team Facilitator, Mrs. Zimmer really hasn’t left Lindbergh. She continues to pour her heart into Lindbergh, helping students and staff in many different ways. For the last four years, Mrs. Zimmer has volunteered her time after school to help students with their homework at the after school homework club at Lindbergh. Taking Staff Development Center classes on her own time, Mrs. Zimmer made sure she was up to speed with new resources, planning and preparing for what students may be having difficulty with on homework. In addition, she has spent countless hours before school, after school, and during the evening to ensure all Lindbergh classrooms had books that were leveled to support the American Reading implementation. Allowing teachers to focus on other things, Mrs. Zimmer has supported teachers who wanted all of their classroom libraries leveled. In her free time, Mrs. Zimmer subs in our district and also volunteers at Deerhurst Presbyterian Church, coordinating backpack & food drives for Lindbergh families in need. On behalf of the entire staff at Lindbergh Elementary, we thank you for your continued service to our kids!
