Welcome to Herbert Hoover Middle School
    where our mission
    is to develop
    self-directed, lifelong learners
    of good character!

Marking Period 3 ends April 19: Hoover Dragons, please work hard to ensure all assignments are complete, submitted on time and to the best of your ability.  Our goal is for all students to earn strong grades that reflect your grit, determination and ability to prioritize academics!  Honor Roll is for averages of between 90-100, and Merit Roll is 85-89.9 (no rounding).
Please review our Revised Middle School Grading Protocol, which specifies that students who do not pass ELA and/or Math will be required to attend summer school (at FMS this summer) and/or students may be scheduled in RtI if they meet the district criteria.
Dragons: Do your best! Show your growth by taking the tests! Hoover Middle School has been designated a NYS TSI (Targeted Support and Improvement) school based on recent state assessment results. In 2023, roughly 1/3 of Hoover students refused the state assessments. As a result, New York State has an incomplete picture of the strengths of our academic programs.  Now we need everyone to participate!  The NYS ELA assessment is April 16th and 17th; the NYS Math Assessment is April 30th and May 1st. Show your growth!  Do your best!  At HMS, let's take the tests! (Be prepared with your fully charged Chromebook.)
Cross-Town Volleyball Champions! We have a two-year tradition of challenging our friends across town at Franklin Middle School to a student/staff volleyball tournament, held March 5 this year.  We have brought the trophy back to HMS two years in a row!  Let's now show Franklin we can participate in the NYS Assessments at a higher rate than the Falcons!
Our PTA is awesome and plans wonderful events for students each year! Please join our PTA for only $10 at the link below:
