    Dear Students and Families,

I am honored and excited to introduce myself as the new principal of Herbert Hoover Middle School. I am truly looking forward to joining the Dragon community and working together to support our students as they learn and grow.

I began my career as a middle school science teacher and later taught high school Biology, experiences that deepened my appreciation for the wonder, curiosity, and growth that happen in these important years. I also served as a Science Research Program Coordinator, partnering with Roswell Park Cancer Institute and Hauptman-Woodward Medical Research Institute to help students engage in scientific research and inquiry.

For the past 17 years, I have proudly served at Kenmore West High School, first as an assistant principal for three years and then as principal for 14 years. During that time, I had the privilege of working with incredible students, staff, and families to create an environment where everyone could thrive.

Now, I am thrilled to begin this new chapter as a Dragon at Herbert Hoover Middle School! I’ve already started meeting our dedicated staff and look forward to getting to know all of our students and families very soon.

As principal, I am committed to our school’s mission:

MISSION: To develop self-directed, lifelong learners of good character.

I also share our school’s vision of creating:

VISION: A respectful, caring learning environment; high academic and social expectations; increasing levels of engagement of students, staff and families.

Together, we can maintain a school community where every Dragon feels valued, supported, and inspired to succeed.

Thank you for welcoming me so warmly to Herbert Hoover Middle School. Please stay tuned for more opportunities to connect in the coming weeks—I can’t wait to meet you all!

    Sincerely,
    Mr. Johnson

    Principal, Herbert Hoover Middle School
