Club Collects 1,200+ Pairs of Socks for Ken-Ton Closet
The "Socktober" drive by the Hoover Middle School's Be the Change Club was a tremendous success with 1,215 pairs of socks collected for the Ken-Ton Closet during the month of October.
The Be The Change Club, led by teachers Kelly Bacon and David Sander, is a new group that was created to give students a forum to wonder, explore, and discover the many ways that they can help make the school, community, and world become a better place. The students brainstorm ideas on how to spread kindness and then put them into action.
The "Socktober" drive was the club’s first event of the year and was a tremendous success. Because of their efforts, a total of 1,215 pairs of socks were delivered to the Ken-Ton Closet on Nov. 8 for families in need in the Ken-Ton community.
