In ELA classes, we will read a wide variety of novels and short stories. Sixth graders are encouraged to read an equivalent of 25 books during the school year, including novels read at home and at school. Students will keep a log of the novels they read towards the goal of 25. Regular reading at home is an important part of our class. Read magazines and the newspaper, as well as novels!! We will also work on our writing skills, through units on informative, persuasive, and narrative writing.
