                                                                     grades

    7th Grade

All 7th Grade Students will receive a letter grade in Spanish class, based on the scale used by FMS.  Grades will be based on the following:

    1.   Active class participation- All students will be expected to actively participate in class activities within the large group as well as in smaller groups.  Do not ever feel embarrassed or nervous about speaking in a foreign language!  Perfection is not our goal; having fun and learning are!

    2.   Quizzes/Tests- Any quiz or test that is missed due to an absence must be made up within 2 days of the student’s return to school.  Make-ups may be completed after school only (2:45- 3:30).  Failure to make up a quiz or test within the 2 days will result in a zero, unless other arrangements are made.

    3.   Homework- All assignments should be completed on time and are due at the beginning of the class period.  Students are responsible for making up any work missed due to an absence and are given 2 days to do so. Failure to turn in work within the 2 days will result in incomplete and tardy homework grades.  NO work will be accepted after 1 week of tardiness.

    4.   Projects- Small projects completed both in and out of class.

    5.    Final Exam in June.

    8th Grade

All 8th graders will receive a percentage grade in Spanish class, based on the scale used by FMS.  The reason that they receive a percentage and not a letter grade is due to the fact that this course counts for high school credit.  Grades will be based on the following:
