Dear Franklin Elementary Families,

It is with great pleasure that I wish to introduce myself to you. My name is Mrs. Kia Evans, and I am proud to serve as Franklin’s new principal. As both a parent and an educator for the past 21 years, I want to assure you that your children will be in good hands while at Franklin! The staff and I are looking forward to a great year filled with opportunities to grow academically, socially and emotionally. Moreover, we are excited to have students in our classrooms, and filling our halls with energy and enthusiasm for learning in just a short while. With that, we look forward to welcoming your child back.

As you know, at Franklin, we take pride in being a school family that values the uniqueness of each individual student. To that end, please be certain that your child will be nurtured and loved, as they are being encouraged to grow. My personal philosophy is that students must feel cared for in order to learn at high levels, which is what you will see in our school. You will also continue to find that the teachers are committed to fostering growth and autonomy. In fact, they have spent countless hours this summer obtaining professional development as it relates to literacy and numeracy, which will translate to better academic preparedness for your students. It is an exciting time, and we are looking forward to partnering with you.
