• Reading Steps at Home

Your child should be bringing home their reading bag every night with a calendar of "reading steps" to be done at home for the month. Reading at home has been shown to have a very positive impact on classroom performance and student advancement. Usually, a regular night would include reading for 30 minutes (2 steps) and your parent initials on the calender that this has been completed. Please ask them about what they read, and what they have learned. Any book you chose to read with them is also a wonderful extension of their reading. Thank you for your help with this important piece of your child's reading comprehension. The "steps" reset every month and a new calendar will be sent home in their reading folder.
