Education Law Article 19 and Regulations of the Commissioner of Education require physical examinations of public school students:
• Entering the school district for the first time, and in grades Pre-K or K, 1, 3, 5, 7, 9, and 11. It must be on a NYS School Health Examination Form. There is a link to the form below if needed.
7th gradeNYS school health requires up-to-date physicals for all 7th grade students. The physicals need to be dated on or after 9/1/23 to be considered valid to be valid for the 2024-2025 year. All students entering Grades 7-12 must have the meningococcal vaccine.
9th gradeNYS school health requires up-to-date physicals for all 9th grade students. The physicals need to be dated on or after 9/1/23 to be considered valid to be valid for the 2024-2025 year.
11th gradeNYS school health requires up-to-date physicals for all 11th grade students. The physicals need to be dated on or after 9/1/23 to be considered valid to be valid for the 2024-2025 year.
12th gradeSeniors need to be up-to-date with their meningococcal vaccine prior to the start of the school year.
MedicationNew York State Education Law prohibits school personnel from administering medication to students. We understand that there will be cases when it is necessary to take medication during school hours. At these times, the school nurse can cooperate with the family and the doctor. Please call the nurse for details on dispensing medicine of any kind.
Athletics
Athletes must sign up for their chosen sport through Final Forms and have a current physical on file.
