Earlier this month, Ken-Ton German students celebrated the start of school with Schultüten, which are decorated cones traditionally filled with sweets, toys, school supplies, books, stuffed animals, or anything else that might make the day more enjoyable. In Germany, Schultüten are traditionally given to first graders on the first day of first grade to "sweeten" the experience. Pictured here are 2 of German teacher Frau Crusan's Gr. 7 students, Aidan Satchidanand from Hoover Middle and Addison Rejewski from Franklin Middle, and Kenmore West students of German teacher Matthew Gabel: Alexis Stanley, Ireland Crean and Hanna Krukowski, Catherine Stanley, and Breagha Carr.
