Girl Scouts Open Free Clothing Cabinet at Holmes Elementary
The Girl Scouts of Western New York Troop 30657, comprised of several young ladies from the Ken-Ton community, have opened a clothing cabinet called "Boutique 97" at Holmes Elementary School!
The boutique is a Silver Award project and is aimed at solving a problem in the community and creating change in a positive way. Two of the members of Girl Scout Troop 30657 sponsoring and spearheading the project are Kenmore East 8th grader Natalia Rivera and Kenmore West 8th grader Meryn Davis as well as Ken-Ton area student Arden Valenti.
You can watch both Natalia and Meryn in a video posted to the Holmes' PTA Facebook page by clicking here.
The clothing cabinet is completely free for both students and families, with winter gear, shoes, and clothing available to anyone in need. They're also accepting donations to keep the shop open through March.
As of now, Boutique 97 is open on four days: February 12th from 4-7 p.m., February 26th from 2:45-3:30 p.m., March 13th from 6-8 p.m., and March 28th from 2:45-3:30 p.m. The cabinet will remain open throughout the rest of the school year with other dates and times to be announced, and will be an ongoing project for many years to come!
