Kenmore East & Kenmore West Fall Athletic Season Highlights
After winning the final six league games of the season, Kenmore East Boys Soccer won the Niagara Frontier League Championship, defeating Niagara-Wheatfield 2-1, then defeated McKinley 2-0 in the Section VI A1 Quarterfinals. The team fell in double overtime to Hamburg, 1-0, in the Section A1 Semifinals.
For the second year in a row, Kenmore West Girls Cross Country won the Niagara Frontier League Championship.
Ken-Ton School District Athletics and Kenmore West High School were proud to host the Section VI Gymnastics Championships. Competing for Ken-Ton were Kenmore West students Mikala Thursam and Kayleen Jenkins.
Kenmore West swimmer Gillian Boal placed second and set personal records in both the 50- and 100-meter. She also qualified for the New York State Championship Meet.
Kenmore East Golf placed second in the Niagara Frontier League, which Zac Golibersuch, Benn Zenosky, Ryan Hahn and Alex Reardon qualifying for sectionals.
The Kennmore East and Kenmore West Girls Volleyball Teams squared off in the Section VI Class A prequarterfinal round, with Kenmore West moving on and falling to Grand Island in the quarterfinals. Kenmore West finished the season 12-7 overall and 11-5 in league play.
