Edison Receives "Random Acts of Kindness" Donation

On Friday, October 11th, Edison Elementary was the recipient of a "Random Acts of Kindness" check, given to the school by Bob's Discount Furniture. The nationwide furniture chain store celebrated its grand opening at its newest location on Sheridan Drive in Amherst.

Representing Edison Elementary was Principal Shawn Siddall, who accepted a check for $2,500 on the school's behalf.

"On behalf of our staff, students, and families, thank you, Bob’s Discount Furniture, for believing in the potential of our school and for helping us shape a brighter future for every student who walks through our doors," Siddall said. "Your donation will be used to enhance the educational experiences we provide, allowing us to potentially invest in new classroom resources, support extracurricular activities, and create enriching opportunities for our children."

Bob's Discount Furniture gives back to the communities they do business in, giving checks to schools and non-profits at their grand opening ceremonies.

“Surprising local schools and community organizations with Random Acts of Kindness is a unique way Bob’s gives back,” said Lindsay Ruszczyk, Director of Communications and Community Outreach, in an article on the Bob's Furniture website. “We value being good corporate citizens, and we are honored to make these unexpected but meaningful donations to so many worthy organizations.”
