HISTORY OF THE SROs
The first SRO program began in Flint, MI in 1958. The goal of this program was to help police/youth relations.
The police were assigned to the school as teachers and counselors.
The program in Flint was a success and became a model for other schools throughout the country.
Fifty years later, in February 2008, the Ken-Ton School District began its SRO program.
