Hoover Middle Collects 2,500 Pairs of Socks for KT Closet
During the month of October, Hoover Middle School students worked together to collect pairs of socks for families in need in the Ken-Ton community. Together, they collected an astounding 2,500 pairs to donate to the Ken-Ton Closet.
The 2019 “Soctober” drive was coordinated through the leadership of the Hoover Middle School Student Council. Student leaders personally delivered the socks by bus to the Ken-Ton Closet’s new location at the former Jefferson Elementary School on Nov. 12.
The Ken-Ton Closet is a non-profit organization now operating at the former Jefferson Elementary School building, providing new and gently used clothing as well as school supplies, toiletries, and other daily living necessities to families in need in the Ken-Ton School District community.
This is just the start of Hoover Middle's commitment to helping those in need in Ken-Ton this holiday season, with more initiatives to come.
The following classes were celebrated for generating the most donations: for fifth grade, Mrs. Krasinski’s class; for sixth grade, Mrs. Powalowski’s class; and for seventh grade, Mrs. Bacon’s and Miss Rickan’s class.
