Kenmore West Places 2nd at BAND Against Bullying Competition
Students at Kenmore West High School won second place at this year’s BAND Against Bullying competition at UB’s Center for the Arts, an inspiring annual event dedicated to promoting a message of unity, acceptance, and dignity for all students.
BAND Against Bullying is a performing arts competition sponsored by the University at Buffalo and UB's Alberti Center for Bullying Abuse Prevention, M&T Bank, Kiss 98.5, and other partners. Teams from competing high schools each perform an act combining multiple forms of art to create dynamic illustrations of dignity awareness.
“Seniors Brianna Puma, Samantha Marcotte and junior Kristen Benner were the creative team and led the performance group of students ranging from ninth through 12th graders,” said Kenmore West theater teacher Diana Gruninger. “They were spectacular!”
In addition to the Kenmore West students on stage, this year’s event included two Kenmore East graduates and two Kenmore West graduates working behind the scenes as part of the BAND Against Bullying production team. To learn more about BAND Against Bullying, visit nybandagainstbullying.org
