Wednesday, October 25 was Unity Day, a national day devoted to putting a stop to bullying and encouraging students to be kind, accepting and including of others who might be different than them. Schools participated in many different ways.

At Hoover Elementary, Miss Barrett and Miss Rainey’s class joined together on Unity Day to show an act of kindness. The classes created birthday cards for Teddy, a boy from Arizona who did not have any of his classmates show up to his birthday party. The students read together "The Invisible Boy" by Trudy Ludwig and learned about what compassion and inclusion truly meant.

Lindbergh Elementary students and staff proudly wore orange to show their support for anti-bullying. In addition to wearing orange, the students enjoyed an anti-bullying magic show presented by Mike Seege. Mr. Seege presented grade-specific presentations to each of the grades.
